| | Latest News | The launch of new, green and meaningful ‘tree planting’ events | August 2008 |
| Planet Gold have collaborated with the Tree Appeal (www.treeappeal.co.uk) to offer a new and unique event concept….the opportunity to help create new native British woodland as a team building event. These are truly sustainable events that actively promote biodiversity, create wildlife habitats and improve the environment for people.
We are looking for UK companies that would like enhance our countryside by sending teams to plant broad-leaved trees and traditional hedgerows. We have many sites throughout the UK and will liaise with your local wildlife trust to establish suitable sites on your doorstep making it easy for you to return over the forthcoming years to see your woodland grow and establish.
These events simply ooze the feel-good factor and will unite a team within your organisation. There are many PR benefits to a company in running an event of this nature and you automatically become a corporate partner of the Tree Appeal. For the really adventurous we can offer wilderness parties and luxury tented accommodation alongside the tree planting event, perhaps in a brand new woodland grove that the team has just created!!
When the country seems obsessed with the off-setting of carbon, why not take things a step further….get your hands dirty and simply create something of infinite environmental importance. The tree planting season runs from November to March so now is the time to plan your 2008/9 winter event.
Please give us a call on 01249 782782 for further information. |

| | The best comprehensive in England celebrate with Planet Gold | June 2008 |
| When Sheldon School received a "perfect" inspection report from Ofsted, the government’s school inspection agency, the teaching staff (deservedly so) wanted to celebrate in style so they contacted Planet Gold.
Although this was one of the tightest budgets we have ever had to work to for a 250 people celebration, we appreciated the schools requirement for a celebration and pulled out all the stops to help Sheldon throw a party to remember.
The venue was a local village hall, glamourously decorated with our 'sails' decor. A domed tent was used to increase the venues capacity and flame burners and tree lights helped enhance the overlook look and feel. Fresh, local food was cooked over hot coals throughout the night and the music was provided by the schools very own band.
With many of Planet Gold's team coming through Sheldon School we would like to congratulate the school on their hard working achievements and hope they continue to produce top quality event crew!! |

| | Summer is here at last!! | May 2008 |
| May has arrived in style. The sun is out, the weather is warm and that summer vibe is easing into everyone's systems.
We would like to congratulate Julian and Emily Clark on their marriage at what was one of the most colourful and enjoyable events we have ever been involved with. The Manor House in Castle Combe was a magical setting for a pagan wedding (our first!) and the day was a pleasure to witness.
If you are thinking of planning an event this summer and want something unique, outdoors and adventurous then why not speak to us about a tipi village in a secluded and beautiful location for anything from 15 to 500 guests. Organic and wholesome food will be cooked throughout the occassion, music will be live, the tipi and party fires will be burning and the mood ecstatic.
Go on, be brave.

| | Planet Gold focus on sustainable events | January 2008 |
| Planet Gold has always been environmentally conscious in our event planning and methods of business practice. However, this year we will be actively committing to supporting the evolution of sustainable events.
This will be done through the promotion and provision of 'green' events. These will be events that have an absolute minimal impact on the local environment and, where possible, will have a positive impact. We will encorage companies to spend their money on events that benefit the local community and environment in addition to benefiting their workforce. These style of events will be updated on our website shortly.
As a business we already operate on an environmentally aware basis. All our décor is 100% re-useable and the installation process creates no waste. Our caterers source local and organic foods. The interior of our offices and workshop are made entirely from reclaimed materials and we operate a company recycling system. We will continue to focus on minimalising and eliminating waste and emissions rather than off-setting carbon after it’s creation. We are not jumping on a band wagon....we whole heartedly believe that this way of operating is the future.
Please call us on 01249 782782 if you wish to discuss how your company can benefit from sustainable events. |

| | 'Chandelier' decor is now available | December 2007 |
| Planet Gold have just finished installing our brand new 'Chandlier' decor into Rivermead Leisure Centre, Reading. We were commissioned to create the decor to compliment the 2007 Mirror Ball running throughout December. Seven giant chandeliers measuring between 3 and 4 metres in diameter have been constructed and installed, each one suspends a spinning mirror ball at it's core. The decor is very contemporary, shiny and stylish. Anyone who would like to see the decor installed can visit Rivermead prior to 23rd December. |

| | Fancy your very own circus? | October 2007 |
| Chippenham based company, Westinghouse had bad luck this summer due to the appalling weather. Twice, their family funday for 900 people was postponed. The September rescheduling meant that the format and content of the day had to be totally weather-proof.
It was decided that we would stage their very own circus at Bowood House, Wiltshire. The weather could do what it wanted because all guests would be under the roof of a giant big top. With only three weeks to make this happen, planning and production was extremely tight.
However, on the day we transformed the interior of a big top using our decor and provided guests with a 90 minute bespoke circus production involving silk dancers, street acrobats, magicians, slapstick clowns and chinese umbrella juggling. The audience were totally captivated for the duration and afterwards moved over to a giant Saddlespan tent for food, drink and live music.....and the sun shined brightly and warmly!! This is a fantastic all-weather event option for large numbers. |

| | Planet Gold sponsers local football team, Castle Combe FC | September 2007 |
| For the 2007/8 season, Planet Gold are proud to sponser our local football team, Castle Combe FC. The team play Saturday football in Wiltshire Division One and their season got off to a blinding start with a 5-1 win over Blunsdon Utd. Although we won't talk about the next couple of results, the team are under excellent management with Trevor Rawlings at the helm of the ship.
So why do this? Although extremely unlikely that a supporter will see the Planet Gold logo and book an event, Planet Gold is always keen to support our local community. The football team was struggling financially, the players and management were not from Castle Combe and the whole club needed a fresh injection of talent, management and outlook. With new local managagement, players and sponsership, the club can get back to it's community-based roots. A football team promotes great local spirit and we feel this move is simply good for our karma! Good luck Castle Combe for this season and the future. The clubs website is www.castlecombefc.co.uk. |

| | Bath-based ‘Interaction’ brave the elements | October 2006 |
| It takes a bold company to book our ‘Adventure in the Wye Valley’ – particularly in the autumn!! However, Interaction braved the elements as 30 guests took to the water on the River Wye during a canoeing expedition.
The guests were unaware that five miles downstream awaited a stunning tipi village in the middle of absolutely no-where. The fires were burning, soup and canapés waiting, music playing and food sizzling as guests got warm and partied into the night in the giant centre-piece tipi. ‘Fun and Adventurous’ was our successfully delivered brief. |

| | Combe Sunday raises £7500 for children’s charities | July 2006 |
| It becomes clear why we voluntarily do these things when throwing a small festival in our local village of Castle Combe attracts 4000 people to the village, raises £7500 for vital children’s charities and brings together a vibrant local community spirit.
Local bands, caterers, stall holders, artists and craft stalls all flocked to the sunny village in late May. The surprise visitor was ‘Kong’. This man-sized gorilla wreaked havoc throughout the day both on and off the stage. The event climaxed with the outstanding London band, ‘The Dirty Feel’ rocking the absolute socks off a satisfied crowd as the daylight faded. |
