These experiences are aimed at having a neutral or positive impact on a local environment. They are rurally based in the West Country and are suitable for groups of 10 to 250 people. Each experience usually culminates with a wholesome banquet freshly prepared outdoors with organic and locally sourced food used where possible.

Each experience can be used purely for fun or as a professionally facilitated team building exercise and can last for between 1 and 3 days. For the adventurous we can provide a luxury tipi village allowing guests to stay out in the wild yet in total comfort.

A small sample of our experiences include:

Enhance the Environment
There are numerous local environmental projects that require funding and manpower to complete. Planet Gold work with local councils and environmental groups to establish where these projects are located and what is work is required to complete the goal. Your team is then given the challenge of undertaking the project and seeing it through from start to completion.

Examples experiences include woodland creation, ditch and river clearance, butterfly projects, wildflower planting, hedge laying, pond construction, dry stone wall reparation and nature reserve creation within schools. These events really do make a difference, leaving a lasting and positive environmental impact whilst providing a memorable and unique experience for your team. These events are also great for raising your companies’ profile.

River Expedition in the Wye Valley
Guests will embark on a expedition in North American open canoes with 2 to 3 guests occupying each vessel. They will paddle downstream as a group with the aim being to reach a particular destination before dark. Although this experience is moderately physical, guests do not have to be able to swim to participate and all safety equipment will be provided. For the perfect end to the day and start to the night, we can create a tipi village in a secluded and private location.

The Tipi Village
Used to accompany many of these experiences, the tipi village is a great and environmentally sound alternative to hotel accommodation. The construction of the village can form a team building exercise in itself, or we can create a luxurious network of tipis in the wild to surprise guests. The warm a comfortable interior, heated by burning wood fires and the aroma of the imminent outdoor banquet will be enough to get any non-camper excited.

Treasure Trails
Whether these be on foot, by boat, by bike or by narrowboat.....a treasure trail can be as simple or complex as your time and budget will allow. We write bespoke treasure trails to suit your group and your event requirements and incorporate strategically positioned actors and challenges to make the event interactive and varied.

Examples include Mysterious Britain which takes place in and around Avebury and the Marlborough Downs exploring some of the most ancient and mysterious landmarks in Britain including crop circles during the summer months; and The Hunt for the Beast which involves teams having to locate and capture a werewolf-type character.

Aerial Adventure
Taking your team out of their usual everyday comfort zone highlights many issues relating to communication, teamwork, leadership, trust, innovation, creativity and problem solving. A combination of aerial challenges are linked to team activities and all individuals can contribute towards the overall success of the day (regardless of their confidence with heights). This event is aimed at inspiring rather than intimidating.

The Oooh-Argh Olympics
This is a great participative event that can be held in the paddock or adjoining field of many venues. The group are split into smaller teams and then rotated between various West Country challenges, each team being scored depending on their performance. Challenges include haybale stacking, welly throwing, duck herding, sheep shearing and axe throwing!
